Whisting features
Semi-responsible whist. It means that for each undertrick on whist the defender is written a half of the contract value in the mountain.
For example, a 6 tricks contract was played. The declarer took seven tricks. The record will be the following:
- 2 points is written to the declarer in the pool for the made 6 tricks contract.
- The defender is written in the mountain: 1 (1 undertrick) * 2 (a half of the undertricked cost in the 6 tricks contract) = 2 points.
- The defender for 3 taken tricks writes on the declarer 3*4=12 whists.
Gentlemen's whist. If remise then the consolation and whists for the taken tricks are halved between the whisting player and passing player. The consolation is recorded in addition to whists for the taken tricks to both players.
For example a 7 tricks contract was played. The declarer took five tricks. One opposing player whisted and another passed. The whisting player took five tricks accordingly. The record will be the following:
- The declarer for 2 undertrickings is written in the mountain 2*8=16 points.
- 5 actual tricks: 5*8=40 whists;
Consolation for two additional tricks per each player: 2*2*8=32 whists.
In total, 40+32=72 whists will be written on the declarer, thus:
The whisting player will write on the declarer 72/2=36 whists;
The passing player will write on the declarer 72/2=36 whists.
All pass
The record for the taken tricks in the «All pass» round is made in the mountain. The basic trick cost in the «All pass» round is agreed before the game beginning. It is usually two points for a trick.
The trick cost depends on what «All pass» round in a row is played. The trick cost is usually calculated basing on the arithmetic progression – 2; 4; 6 – that is the trick cost in the first «All pass» round – two points, in the second – four points, in the third and further – six points. If a player didn't take any tricks then the cost of one trick is written in his pool.
The talon in the «All pass» round is open. When there are three players in the game then the card of the talon shows the suit of the lead and when there are four players then the cards of the talon belong to the dealer.
Before the game beginning it is necessary to agree – what to do if the fourth player didn’t take any tricks – to write off the cost of one trick from the mountain in the current «All pass» round or not to write off anything.
The exit from «All pass» round is hard. The exit with remise is impossible.
The game end
The game goes on till the moment when the all players’ total size of the pool reaches the agreed size multiplied by the quantity of players. The one who will have less points than the agreed size, is written in the mountain the doubled difference between actually gained points and this size; and the one who will have more points than the agreed size – is written off from the mountain the doubled difference between the points in his pool and this size.
The game can't be ended on «All pass» round.
