Rules of the backgammon «FreeRoll» tournaments carrying out

The «FreeRoll» backgammon tournament is held at the preliminary declared time.

Players wishing to participate in a tournament come to the tournament hall during the registration time and press the button «Register». (Tournament halls are located in a «Tournaments» tab).

It is possible to register for the participation in a tournament within 30 minutes before the tournament beginning. All registered players play all rounds.

Tournaments on the Nackgammon and Narde are held according to the Swiss system.

According to the results of play in a round, players get points according to the following system:

Duplicate narde:
  • 7 rounds;

  • Mars - yes.
Backgammon:
  • 7 rounds,
  • The match is up to - 5,
  • 25 minutes,
  • Doubling – yes,
  • Gammon – yes,
  • Backgammon – yes.

Duplicate backgammon:
  • 7 rounds,
  • A single game,
  • 10 minutes,
  • Doubling – yes,
  • Gammon – yes,
  • Backgammon – yes.

Positions definition

  1. For the position definition occupied by the player in a tournament the sum of the gained points is used. The player gained the biggest quantity of points occupies higher final position in the tournament.
  2. In case two and more players have an equal quantity of points the following indicators are applied to the position definition:

    2.1 According to the result of the face-to-face single game if it was during the tournament.
    2.2 The Buchholz coefficient of a certain player is a sum of all opponents’ points with whom the given player played regardless the game result between them. A player with higher Buchholz Coefficient will be awarded higher final place in a tournament.
    2.3 The Berger coefficient of a certain player is a sum of all opponents’ points against whom the given player won. A player with higher Berger Coefficient will be awarded higher final place in a tournament.

  3. If a player did not have an opponent in the current round then the victory is awarded to him with a result which is equal (plus) one point.
  4. A player refused to continue to participate in the tournament does not participate in the positions allocation and automatically «wins» last position among the remained players regardless the quantity of the gained points.

Collusion

Players’ behaviour rules in all tournaments are regulated by Principles of fair play.

Refusal of participation in the course of a tournament

  1. Refusal of the further participation in a tournament can be done by pressing the button «Participation refusal».
  2. Players who finished a tournament ahead of schedule but didn’t press the button «Participation refusal» are denied the right to participate in tournaments on a certain period depending on the quantity of the violations of this rule. At first or second violations a player will be disqualified for 1 (one) month. At third and the following violations a player will be disqualified for 3 (three) months.
  3. A player refused to participate in a tournament «wins» a position in the end of a tournament table regardless the quantity of the gained points.

Emergency end of a tournament

  1. If 50% (or more) of the planned rounds are played then the prize pool allocation takes place according to the gained positions.
  2. If less than 50% of the planned rounds are played then the tournament is considered not to be played.
  3. At an emergency stop of a tournament prize will be deposited to players’ accounts within 24 hours.
In case of the technical problems during the tournament and this Regulation violation any player of the tournament can inform the judge not later than 24 hours after the tournament end. The information is to be sent via e-mail on the nochkafp@gmail.com. It is necessary to describe the situation in the mail and specify: the data, time of the tournament, round, game number. The judge has the right to refuse to consider an application in case of the violations of the above mentioned conditions.

Tournaments on the backgammon are held under Regulations ¹3.
